While experiencing some issues, we are also getting some encoders back that are damaged. There is a glass disk inside the encoder that is sensitive to breaking. You need to be careful while handling and shipping the encoder. Whenever possible, reuse the packaging that was used for the replacement encoder. Typical customer complaints that may be caused by a non-conforming encoder: -Chasing weights -Wheel weight doesn’t show up at 12 o’clock during calibration -No rotational signal To determine if an encoder is non-conforming: - Turn off the balancer. -Place a wheel weight at 12 o’clock on the inner or outer plane of a wheel as a reference point. -Turn on the balancer.
