Subject: XR Balancers - Enclosed Encoder

Beginning with serial number 0906307638, all XR balancer models are equipped with an enclosed encoder. With an enclosed encoder there is no gap to set, no timing to set, and no decal to collect dust. With an enclosed encoder, the XR encoder test and test screens should NOT be used to check performance. However, the 0 through 255 count displayed on the “green” self-test screen is still a valid way to check encoder performance. The left hand threaded bolt, attached to the encoder shaft, fastens directly into the spindle shaft, replacing the original bolt, and helps retain the spindle pulley. The encoder cable has a connector on each end, is independent from the encoder, and has is own part number.
