The Nyl Insert 3"/4"-10" Lock Nut is a heavy-duty, direct-replacement locknut/jam nut designed to secure critical pivot pins, cylinder rods, and mechanical linkages on professional tire changers.

Under continuous mechanical shock and intense shop vibrations, locking nuts can back off or strip, introducing play in foot pedals and table assemblies. This fine-thread replacement nut holds torque securely.

Subject: Rim Clamp - 70H - BL Cylinder, Pivot, & Arm

Beginning in March of 2013, S/Ns 1303101566 & 1303101491, Discount Tire 70 Series Rim Clamp Tire Changers are equipped with a new bead loosener cylinder, a Heim joint instead of a pivot pin, and a slightly modified BL arm to accommodate the Heim joint. The same changes are going into effect on all standard production, hand control, 70 series models today beginning with S/N 1308100031. BL Arm Change: An interior welded support plate was moved slightly to allow clearance for the Heim joint. Note that the part number (8182002) for the BL Arm has not changed and that the new design is backward compatible but the old design is not forward compatible.

Notice of change in hardware used to secure Heim Joint in the X model Tire Changers equipped with Heim Joints. Due to stack-up tolerance issues, Hennessy has decided to eliminate the two washers used in the assembly that attaches the heim joint to the BL arm. It is just now the screw, 3 spacers, and nylon locking nut. Original Design: Current Production: No action is required on your part but please be advised not submit requests for these washers as missing parts.
