Some Discount Tire "Grip Max PlusTM" Clamps have been found to be wearing prematurely due to the Nuts loosening and coming apart. If you come across this situation, perform the following temporary steps: 1. Remove the Nuts 2. Remove the Washers 3. Reinstall the Nuts NOTE: This process allows the Nut to grip the Shoulder Screw more securely. The permanent repair is to replace the existing Nuts with 8182682 NUT – LOCK, HEX REVERSIBLE 10-24 New Clamp – Nut fully secured Used Clamp – Nut loosened New Nuts – Fully secured New Nuts – Fully secured
