Subject: Rim Clamp Rotary Coupler Lubrication

1 large o-ring & groove 2 air passages & grooves 3 small o-rings & grooves When servicing/replacing the rotary coupler on a Rim Clamp Tire Changer it is crucial that the o-ring grooves in the coupler as well as the o-rings are well lubricated prior to installation. If you are using a replacement rotary coupler assembly, p/n 8182034, it is shipped “dry”. Remove all four o-rings, lubricate the o-ring grooves, and the o-rings. Be careful not to block the air passages and their grooves. Then install the o-rings back in the coupler before installing the coupler assembly onto the machine. Use the same technique if only replacing the o-rings. The production lubricant is Ammogel. (Also used for air cylinder assembly.
