Subject: Oil Injector - Different Bleeder Valve

Oil injectors on production tire changers, beginning around serial number 1009107506, are now being equipped with a different bleeder valve. We are using a push button valve, part number 8103737. It is the same one used as the over inflation air release valve on center post tire changers with a 1/8” NPT thread. It requires a larger diameter threaded hole in the oil injector body. Therefore previous oil injector bleeder with a 1/4-28 thread and the new one are NOT interchangeable. The old bleeder is not available from Hennessy. If the local parts house does not have one, a short 1/4 -28 bolt with sealant will work in a pinch.

Subject: Oil Injector - Push Button Bleeder Leakage

We have been getting back some oil injectors that were good but had faulty push button bleeders. If hydraulic oil is seeping from the bleeder threads and down the injector wall, it is caused by a loose bleeder and/or the lack of thread sealant. The threads should be sealed and the bleeder tightened. Leakage from bleeder outlet hole indicates faulty bleeder Leakage from threa ds indicates loose or unsealed bleeder If the leakage is from the bleeder outlet hole, the bleeder is faulty and should be replaced. The bleeder part number is 8103737 and is in stock.
